Summer-only enrollment is for school-aged children, who have completed Kindergarten and are up to the age of 8. All Forest School of Minnesota preschool students are enrolled year-round, thus are part of the core group of students during the summer. Minimum requirement of one full month of Summer Session participation for school age students.

Weekly Summer Schedule

Tuesday~ 9 to 4 | Wednesday~ 9 to 4 | Thursday~ 9 to 4

Activities During our Summer Session

Each Spring our students will create and imagine the summer weeks ahead. Imagine the excitement of seeing your ideas and those of your friends come true… Recently, we had a Summer Session filled with Caterpillar Week, Butterfly Week, Bee and Flower Week, Dragonfly Week, and Faerie Week. Homemade costumes made from their imaginative ideas, with the assistance of their parents, added to the magic of each theme — it was the perfect touch to make the summer brilliant. This additional step of engaging the children’s imaginations to bring out their excitement for learning created wonderful and memorable summers. How often do our children’s ideas, especially on a grand scale, come to life? This opportunity was a tremendous experience and a memorable gift to all of our FSMN children and their families.

Weeks of learning about flora, fauna, pollinators, insects, and discoveries through science experiments, and the joys of all things cool and wet on hot summer days.

Themes of Summer 2024

Theme plans for the summer session are in the works. Currently on the drawing table are:

June ~ Wonders of the Woodlands and Prairies July ~ Fur, Feather, and Insect Discovery August ~ Imaginations ignited… the children’s own ideas will be shared and developed with their peers in this month of imaginative play come to life. The children’s inspiration will add some magic to this month

* Details will be provided to each students family a few weeks prior to the theme. Imaginations will sprout, creativity will blossom, and as always, much so fun!
