School Celebrations and Events

Celebrations are an important and joyful part of life, and experiencing special events and celebrations with peers hold a special place in our memories. Once upon a time, our schools were a lovely source for these events, but those days of looking forward to and experiencing these special days are no longer celebrated in our school settings. As parents you may remember going to school in a costume in October, or the class Fairie Tale Feast when we came to school dressed as a favorite character in the book, or celebrating the holidays, or the seasons with special days at school with our peers. I recall days dedicated to winter activities, ice skating, skiing, snowshoeing and sledding, and seasonal occasions like trips to the apple orchard or farm. We loved these days, but alas, they are no longer events in our schools. This loss of celebration makes the experiences we create in FSMN that much more important to our students and families. We see the importance of making celebratory memories throughout the year.

All little hands love little pocket friends.

We celebrate as many holidays as possible, and make many up along the way as well. Celebrations bring a full and happy heart to all that take part.

Celebrating the beginning of blooming season.

Sharing a bit of blooming joy.

Every autumn we make golden capes, which represent the golden heart work we learn and practice throughout our years together. Wherever the children go they spread kindness, thoughtfulness and light, through their words actions, and friendships.
